I swear I have been looking for this necklace my whole life. It is perfect in every sense of the word. Thank you Zara for making such a neck-improving life-altering piece of jewellery.

All I want for Christmas...
Now it's December, it's all systems Christmas agogo. I'm more excited this year for the holiday season than I have been in quite a few years; it really is going to be an excellent couple of weeks. Everything has clicked into place for the first time and, being incredibly understated and modest, my life is pretty flippin' great. As such, I don't really want anything for Christmas but if I HAD to have a present, this is what I'm coveting at the moment.

Alexa for Vero
Alexa can do no wrong in my eyes, especially in this shoot for Vero Moda's S/S 2012 collection. I just want to BE her. These photos encapsulate exactly how I want to dress this year. Sigh.

Provocateur
I accidentally took advantage of the exceptional Agent Provocateur sale. This set was just too amazing not to buy...

All I want for Christmas

1. ASOS Blouse With Apple And Pear Print £35 ⎜2. Dipdye Angora by Boutique £65 ⎜ 3. Kenwood Hand Mixer, Almond £45 ⎜ 4. Mimi Holliday Tarte Tartin Plunge Bra £51 ⎜ 5. Cowshed Spearmint Exfoliating Sea Salt Scrub £40 ⎜ 6. Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook £8.99 ⎜ 7. Nikon 50mm F1.8D Lens £100
With two weeks (that's thirteen sleeps!) to go until Chritmas, I thought it was about time I complied my Christmas Wish List. Now I know most of the things on my wish list are really quite expensive, but it's not called a wish list for nothing...You never know, Father Christmas may be feeling really minted and generous this year.
But really, when all is said and done - and other such clichéd phrases - I am completely and perfectly content in my life as it is so all I want for Christmas is peace and love and a happy holiday for all my nearest and dearest.

Christmas at Liberty
When my mum is in London, the first place we go is Liberty. It's unmissable, especially in the run up to Christmas: the Liberty windows are a wonder to behold; and the Christmas shop is packed full of glittering baubles and charming woodland creatures. Not real woodland creatures of course, that would be pandemonium. And very messy.
So that's where me and my mum went, along with my camera, the strap of which has fused into my neck. I still haven't taken it off yet. It's getting a bit heavy actually.

101 Dalmations
Something strange has happened to me and I have gone dotty for dots. I am seeing spots quite literally. These are my top three must haves inspired by Cruella Devile, my new fashion idol.
Obviously I won't be imitating the blood thirsty attitude and cruelty to dalmatian puppies, only the unhealthy interest in dalmatian print clothing.
The fabulous lady herself.....

Starry Night, Holy Night
Want want want.
I really REALLY want.
NOW.
Thanks.

Motel Starry Night Print Midi DressI am heavily and slightly scarily obsessed by Dolce and Gabbana Autumn/Winter 2011. I'd wear star printed fabric every day of the week. Especially teamed with dark purple lipstick. Ultimate heavenly combo.

New Shoooooooeeess
It has recently been pointed out that I have pretty bad luck in general. Maybe it's just plain clumsiness but I seem to loose things, drop things and hurt myself and others on a regular basis.
Prime example of this happened the other day. I am on my feet all day in hot, uncomfortable boots so have to wear comfy shoes to and from work. My favourite ones are elegant tan loafers that have moulded themselves to the exact shape of my feet. As I boarded the tube in the early morning on my way to work, my favourite left shoe of this pair slipped off my foot and disappeared onto the track. Cue me repeating in shrill panicked tones, "Where the fuck is my shoe? Where the fuck is my shoe? WHERE THE FUCK IS MY SHOE???" I scrabbled around on the floor for a bit trying to relocate my favourite left shoe but the tube pulled away and I was left with one bare foot. All I got from the other commuters was blank, uninterested faces pretending that I hadn't just lost a shoe and that it was silent on the tube rather than filled with my loud howling laughter.
I had to hobble the rest of the way to work, unable to control my hysterical laughter, walking up the escalators, through the glass strewn streets, without a shoe.
Unfortunately the shoe could not be relocated on the track - it has disappeared into thin air - so the pair had to be replaced. I did try to replace like with like but a pair of beautiful lace up wedges caught my eye and I decided that I definitely could not live without them. And they are almost as comfortable as the loafers. Bonus.

Wonder Wedding
With candy floss pink crinkled hair, deep cherry red lips, creamy porcelaine skin, a gossamer veil and a dove grey gothic chiffon dress (by Gareth Pugh), the stylist Katie Shillingford is THE best dressed bride of the year in my opinion. Beautiful and ethereal, how I imagine an elf bride would look. Mega jel.

Nouvelle Boudoir
I haven't decorated my bedroom since I was 15. It was, to say the least, looking a little scruffy...Very beautiful and pink but scruffy. And with me being eight years older than the last time it was decorated, I think my bedroom needs to grow up a bit too. So I've given it a massive overhaul and it looks INCREDIBLE and I am REALLY happy with it!

I ♥ Summer
This t-shirt represents everything that I ♥ love ♥ about summer and everything that I'm very much looking forward to doing this summer.
Apart from short shorts and hot pants. I just don't have the legs.

Some Carnevale wigs found in the back of a cupboard on Grace's leaving dinner. I think the photos speak for themselves.

It must be love love love
My hunt for the perfect lace peter pan collared item of clothing has been a long one. It is not an exaggeration when I say I have been hunting far and wide. I've had many an Ebay anticlimax, many a high street disappointment, many a "Oh, it's just not quite right" regret....
UNTIL NOW! Topshop has pulled through quite spectacularly and this little beaut arrived today.
As much as I find parcels in the post an immeasurable high, when what you've bought isn't what you expected, the come down can be horrific. But the post-arrival high has not dimmed with this fabulous gem, it just keeps on getting better!

Vintage shopping. In Frome? REALLY??!
So for my first proper post. Woop woop!
Yesterday I was introduced to the wonder that is Catherine Hill in Frome. After a pot of tea at the Little Red Cafe and a browse in the beautiful vintage shops, I was pretty much hooked. Definitely recommend a visit for anyone starved of good vintage shopping in Somerset...
DEADLY IS THE FEMALE
We started off in Grace's favourite forties and fifties inspired boutique where we spotted these beauties. Who can live without Dorothy inspired killer heels?
MAKE AND MEND
An amazing jumble sale of old nicknacks, accessories and clothes. The lady who runs the shop has a alteration and repairs room at the back of the shop. Apparently she used to work for Christian Lacroix. What in crikey's name is she doing in Frome?!
Always wanted a Singer sewing machine but for practical and logical reasons, I will stick to modern technology. Or as modern as my worn out 90s sewing machine will allow. Though would be nice to hang necklaces off.
RANDOM SHOP
I'm gutted I can't remember the name of the shop where I took these photos, but this was my favourite one. Lots of vintage teapots and cups and saucers, old tins and vases, potted hyacinths, brooches, creepy witchy hand earrings...
Once pay day comes, I will be definitely be buying one of these silhouette bird brooches for my furry tippet and my blazer. Super cute.
Here's a link with all the shops on Catherine Hill:

Goodtimes! Thank you Grace and Helen for showing me around x
