Beyoncé's video for her new song 1+1....
The song may be slightly average but Beyoncé and the sensuality she exudes in this video are not. The voluminous hair, the dewy skin, the leopard print suspenders, the blindfold....I will admit I got a massive knob on watching this video. Holy moly, she is the sexiest bloody woman on the planet.
I can't decide whether I want to be her or fuck her.
I'm going to go with both.

 

Great British Bake Off

I loved the first series of this programme, but I ADORE the second series. Simply because of one added element: Rob. The floppy hair, the scruffy bearded adorable face, the dimples, the green heavenly eyes....I am swooning all over the shop.
He is a photographer AND a baker. Amazing.
He didn't do so well on the tarts episode, I think he may have had a soggy bottom. But his cakes were pretty good, even though he chucked them on the floor (just like I did!)

He also features on the front of the new Great British Bake Off book! This is promising. Hopefully he'll be on every episode so I can perve away to my heart's content. Definitely one for my Christmas stocking....

Superb or Sacrilege?

I'm worried about watching this film. The book destroys me every time. Even thinking about it makes me well up. Even reading other people's comments about how it makes them well up makes me well up. It's a profoundly sad and lovely story, which - unless you have a heart of steel - guarantees long hard sobbing sessions. The film has a lot to live up to.

Everyone has made such a song and dance about Anne Hathaway and her pants Yorkshire-American accent but it worked for Rene as Bridget Jones and Gwyneth as that lady in Sliding Doors. I hope it'll work just as well here. Otherwise she will totally destroy the character of Emma. TOTALLY.

Although it's slightly bizarre that the trailer gives away almost all of the story in 2 minutes, it looks like the plot is entirely faithful to the book and it looks like it's going to make me well up.

Fingers crossed I don't hate it....

Secret Book Box

I am jobless at the moment and have been since early June. My days have been filled with mindless, inexhaustible boredom with occasional brief spurts of mild excitement. So I decided to embark on a project. This seemed to be perfect as I have plenty of small tchotchkes that need to be kept secret.
Tchotchke is a yiddish word meaning trinket. You can probably now gauge how bored I've been, started using a dictionary...

I chose an old beaten up Harry Potter book to be my hollow box - nothing could be more inconspicuous in my bookshelf. Making it was pretty simples.








You save a couple of pages in the front to make it all look neater at the end. Then you just cover the pages liberally with watered down PVA and leave to dry under some heavy other books.










Once it's dried cut out a space in the book - very, very, VERY time consuming.

Then cover the inner walls liberally with PVA and bob's your uncle, fanny's your aunt, you have an incredible secret box thing.

Wonder Wedding

With candy floss pink crinkled hair, deep cherry red lips, creamy porcelaine skin, a gossamer veil and a dove grey gothic chiffon dress (by Gareth Pugh), the stylist Katie Shillingford is THE best dressed bride of the year in my opinion. Beautiful and ethereal, how I imagine an elf bride would look. Mega jel.
